Accessibility Statement

Prepared & last reviewed: June 2026

Our commitment

Accessibility is the work we do for our clients, so it is the standard we hold ourselves to first. GABAnode Lab is committed to making this website usable by everyone — including people who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, voice control, and other assistive technology. We treat accessibility as part of how this site is built, not a feature added on top of it.

Conformance status

This website was designed and built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. We assess it by self-evaluation against those guidelines. We consider it to substantially conform, and we treat any gap a user reports as a defect to be fixed — not an exception to be explained.

What we’ve done

Measures built into this site include:

  • Semantic HTML structure with proper landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer) and a logical heading order.
  • A “skip to main content” link for keyboard and screen-reader users.
  • Full keyboard operability, with a clearly visible focus outline on every interactive element.
  • Color contrast that meets or exceeds AA for all text, with brand colors restricted to large graphics where contrast is lower.
  • A high-legibility typeface (Atkinson Hyperlegible, designed for low-vision readers) for all content.
  • Text alternatives for all meaningful images; purely decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Respect for the “reduce motion” system setting — animation is disabled for users who request it.
  • A responsive layout that reflows for small screens and browser zoom, with no content loss.
  • No JavaScript is required to read or use the content on this site.

Known limitations

In the interest of honesty — a statement with no limitations is rarely a true one — we want to be clear about the following:

  • Short, decorative labels appear in a stylized pixel typeface. These are visual flourishes only; all essential information is conveyed in the high-legibility typeface and through the page structure.
  • Team portraits are stylized illustrations rather than photographs. Each has a descriptive text alternative.
  • Some fonts load from a third-party service (Google Fonts). If that service is unavailable, the page falls back to your system’s default fonts, which remain legible.

If you encounter a barrier we haven’t listed, we want to hear about it.

Tell us about a barrier

If any part of this site is difficult to use, or you need information in a different format, please contact us. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within two business days and to resolve verified barriers as quickly as we can.

When you write, it helps to include the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using.

Compatibility & technical specifications

This site is built to work with recent versions of major browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari) and common assistive technologies. It relies on HTML and CSS, with WAI-ARIA used only where needed. It does not depend on JavaScript to deliver its content.

Assessment

This statement reflects a self-evaluation performed by GABAnode Lab against WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We review it as the site changes, and we’ll update the date above when we do.
